Update from Ralf

Just a quick note to update on current activities. Over the past week I have managed to earmark some large scale industrial pipes for possible use in the project - approximately 1m in diameter, made from galvanised tin and in 8 to 10 m sections...about twenty five of them. I think theyre pretty interesting and look forward to seeing them in the park. They are from the old Tasmanian Board Mills site at St Leonards, so part of the forestry industry which kind of fits in with the water issues aspect of the project.

Last Thursday Ian Pidd and I went to visit the students at LC and discussed their involvement in the project. They have been on a site visit and looked at some areas they would possibly like to work with - teacher Ben Miller is currently working with them on kinetic sculptures, which may well work in with the project. He suggested they may also be available for 1 to 2 days during the installation phase - which would be great. They have mid year exams this week so I have organised to catch up again next week and see how things go from there.

We also have three other volunteers on board for the project - more info in the next post. I have also just received an email from Ian confirming that we can collect from the Launceston Tip station - great news and hopefully a source for some amazing materials....

Only two weeks now till Eko returns ...
